In Q2 2022, the performance of the top 5 real-time strategy apps in Africa on a unified platform showcased diverse trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a detailed look at how these apps fared during the quarter, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Clash Royale from Supercell experienced fluctuating weekly revenue, peaking at around $24.7K in early May and dipping to approximately $7.9K in mid-June. Weekly downloads showed a slight decline from 22.2K at the beginning of April to around 14.3K by mid-June, with a minor resurgence to 15.9K by the end of June. The app maintained a robust user base, with weekly active users ranging from about 543K to 561K throughout the quarter.

Art of War: Legions by Fastone Games HK saw a steady decrease in weekly revenue, starting at $2.7K and dropping to roughly $1.6K by the end of June. Weekly downloads also dwindled from around 4.9K in late March to approximately 2.2K by the end of June. Active user numbers followed a similar downward trend, decreasing from around 44.8K to 26.5K over the quarter.

Empire Takeover from LOVEGAME HK had a notable increase in weekly revenue, jumping from $376 in late March to approximately $3.9K by mid-June. However, weekly downloads saw a significant drop, decreasing from about 1.5K to just over 100 by the end of June. Weekly downloads declined from around 4.3K to just under 200. Active users fluctuated, peaking at about 10K in early May but dropping to around 6.5K by the end of June.
